What is an indigo?

Indigos are named for the predominant auric color of indigo (an ink-like dark blue with a touch of red). The color indigo represents the third eye chakra, the energy center of psychic activity, which is believed to be wide open on most Indigos— a new generation of higher evolved humans believed to have been born in or after the 1980s.

Recently, many children on the spectrum are being recognized as Indigo, Crystal, Rainbow & even Octarines. Indigos are the ones to break down old structures, Crystals & Octarines are to bring enlightenment and Rainbows are the ones to start the new “era”.

Indigos possess an increased psychic ability and awareness. Most often manifesting the ability to almost “hear” the inner thoughts and feelings of others. They also have an extreme sensitivity to negative energy in certain environments or people, including the inability to tolerate certain people who had previously been close.

Indigos have a warrior spirit, because their collective purpose is to break down old systems that no longer serve us. They are here to change the government, educational, and legal systems that lack integrity. To accomplish this end, they need tempers and firey determination. Those adults who resist change and who value conformity may misunderstand the Indigos.

Indigos can sense dishonesty, like a dog can sense fear. They know when they’re being lied to, patronized, or manipulated. Since their collective purpose is to usher us into a new world of integrity, the Indigos inner lie-detectors are integral. As mentioned before, this warrior spirit is threatening to some adults. Indigos are unable to conform to dysfunctional situations at home, work, or school. They don’t have the ability to disassociate from their feelings and pretend everything is OK…unless they are medicated or sedated.

Indigos are often mislabeled with the psychiatric diagnoses of Attention Deficit with Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) or Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) as many of the personality traits are similar. These include: difficulty listening and following instructions, being hyperactive, and being inattentive. Sadly, when they are medicated, The Indigos often lose their beautiful sensitivity, spiritual gifts, and warrior energy.
